CE Speakers: Casey Grover, MD & Reb Close, MD
Dr. Grover is Chair of the Division of Emergency Medicine at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. Dr. Grover was born at Community Hospital and is a life-long resident of Monterey County. He graduated from medical school at University of California, Los Angeles as one of the top three students in his class. Dr. Grover completed his residency at Stanford in Emergency Medicine and was chief resident. In addition to his current role as Division Chair, he is an attending physician in the Emergency Department, Vice Chief of Staff for the hospital, and serves as Physician Champion for the Monterey County Prescribe Safe Initiative.
Dr. Close is an Attending Emergency Physician at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, and the lead clinical physician for the Monterey County Prescribe Safe Initiative. She has been practicing emergency medicine at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula since 2003.

In this presentation, we get to the underlying causes of burnout so that we can gain more control, balance, and peace both within our practice lives as well as outside. How to Mindfully Unwind From A Day of Dentistry You know those days that leave you feeling stressed, like you could use a glass of wine or something yummy to eat? This lecture is specifically geared towards understanding our feelings and specifically how we process stress throughout the day. We will discuss simple tools for processing stress in a more productive way, creating joy and pleasure outside of food and/or alcohol, and how to create healthy routines to take care of ourselves, optimizing our health and well being. California law requires that employers with 5 employees or more, receive training on sexual harassment and abusive conduct in the workplace.This mandatory training program satisfies California’s legal requirements for harassment prevention training. The course addresses the recognition, prevention, and reporting of harassment, discrimination, and abusive conduct in the workplace. Through real-world scenarios and interactive exercises, participants will learn to foster a respectful work environment while understanding their rights and responsibilities under California law.
Employees are to receive the training within six months of hire or promotion, (from non-supervisory position to supervisory position), and must undergo the same training every two (2) years thereafter. Temporary employees must receive the training within 30 calendar days or 100 hours worked, whichever occurs first. This is a two-hour training; both supervisory and non-supervisory staff shall attend the first hour and only supervisory staff are required to attend the second hour.
Learning Objectives:
• Define harassment, discrimination, and retaliation under California law and federal statutes.
• Identify behaviors that constitute unlawful workplace conduct and abusive behavior.
• Learn best practices for reporting and addressing harassment complaints in compliance with legal requirements.
• Understand the role of supervisors in creating a harassment-free work environment.
• Gain insights into fostering a culture of respect and accountability.
The first hour of this training (which both supervisory and non-supervisory staff must attend) concludes by 5:00 pm PST in an effort to avoid paying non-supervisory staff at an overtime rate for their attendance.
Note: Non-supervisory staff may jump off the 'live' CE webinar at 5pm PST to continue the training for the Employer and Supervisors who will stay on until 6pm PST.

Standard Precautions and Transmission-based Precautions will be explained in the context of CDC & ADA Guidelines and OSHA & Dental Board regulations. Implementing a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan for the Dental Practice and Best Practices
This course equips dental professionals with a clear understanding of the fundamental requirements of California’s new Workplace Violence Prevention law. Participants will learn what is required to create and implement a comprehensive Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) tailored to the unique challenges of dental practices. The program will also cover best practices under California law to ensure compliance with the Cal/OSHA workplace violence prevention standard and maintain a safe environment for employees and patients.
