New 2024 Mandate: Implementing a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan for the Dental Practice and Best Practices Sadly, over the last few years, the healthcare sector has seen an overwhelming increase in the number of violent attacks targeting healthcare facilities and personnel. Smaller practices in ambulatory settings, such as dental and specialty practices, incur unique risks given limitations in infrastructure and funding. In response to the increase in violent incidents, California passed legislation that requires employers, (including dental and specialty practices), to adopt a workplace violence prevention plan.
Harbor, Monterey Bay and San Francisco Dental Societies are collaborating once again to deliver our valued members with a timely 'live' CE Webinar to comply with this new California law to help educate you and your dental team with a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan following best practices for the dental practice.
On July 1, 2024, dental and specialty practices in California must implement a written workplace violence prevention plan. The plan must include specific criteria such as response procedures to specified threats (e.g. shelter in place or evacuation), trainings, annual updates, etc.
Why Register for this 'live' CE Webinar? This timely 'iive' online course via GotoWebinar shall provide a comprehensive overview of the mandatory plan components including best practices. In addition, the presentation will review a number of case studies, discussing response strategies and related employment law considerations. Following the 'iive' CE Webinar, attendees shall receive a guide for implementing a workplace violence prevention plan. |
