Christina Do, DDS About the Speaker Dr. Christina Do is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. She is a native Californian, born and raised in the “OC.” Throughout her dental career she has had the honor of practicing with some of the leading laser professionals in the world.? Her perseverance in mastering dental laser technology gives her the opportunity to lecture worldwide to other dentists on the applications of laser dentistry. She is a lecturer and KOL for the leading dental laser company, Biolase. She is also on the executive board of the Coleman Research Group which connects medical investors with experts in the field of dentistry.?Dr. Do is involved in organized dentistry and began with OCDS as an Appointed Delegate and member of the OCDS Dental Health Foundation. She has since also been Chairperson of the Continuing Education Committee as well as the Budget and Finance Committee. She is also the OCDS President for 2024. Dr. Do became involved with OCDS because she wanted to reach out and support dentists in our community.? Dentistry has been a passion of Dr. Do’s from her college days at UCSD. She was inspired by a homeless woman who expressed her desire to take care of her teeth. From that point forward, Dr. Do knew that she had a calling to perform dentistry for the under privileged in her community and to citizens of other countries where there is little or no access to modern dental care. Since the year 2000, she has served in various countries such as Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Guatemala, Honduras, Papua New Guinea, and Haiti.? ? Dr. Do has created her own animated children’s educational DVD. Her “Toothtales” DVD has received numerous accolades and now has 3 episodes and counting. Dr. Do has been featured numerous times on the Emmy award winning show “The Doctors” performing various dental procedures. Currently, she has dental commercials on air and hopes to continue to reach out to the community through various media aspects. Her exceptional skills in laser dentistry has her featured on PBS American Health Journal, laser educational videos, published journal articles, multiple dental magazines, and actively sought out for dental treatments by patients. She has lectured on multiple topics throughout the world for different organizations throughout her career. Dr. Do is an active member of the ADA, CDA, OCDS, WCLI, PFA, and ICD.? Dr. Do practices in Costa Mesa and has been at her current practice for the past 15 years. She is a general dentist who treats patients from birth and all ages beyond. Her emphasis is laser dentistry and that technology has helped transform many high anxiety patients. She is also the team dentist for the NFL football team, the Chargers. Her office has treated the NFL team for years.? In her spare time, Dr. Do enjoys spending time with family and friends, biking, and arts and crafts. She is married to a fellow Loma Lindan dentist since 2016 and they have a handsome little boy. She tops off her life’s joy by chasing this toddler who is a lover of life and a hugger of all peoples. Digital Dentistry with CAD/CAM and the Power of AI presented by Jinny Bender, DMD In this course, attendees will learn about AI, Computer Aided Designing and Computer Aided Manufacturing restorations in dentistry and how to fully incorporate it into a dental practice efficiently with profitability. The clinician will discuss how to embrace the digital workflow in scanning, designing, and milling in-office chairside restorations using a modern CAD/CAM system. Additional topics to be discussed are material selection, tooth preparation, final finish and cementation. Learning Objectives: • Review and show how to incorporate the benefits of a digital workflow • Learn to digitally design a functional and esthetic chairside restoration in-office • Discover the variety of material choices based on their indications through clinical cases • Understand how to produce quality restorations in a single visit for efficiency and profitability Jinny Bender, DMD About the Speaker Dr. Jinny Bender is a clinical dentist at Glidewell, Orange County, California. She joined Glidewell in 2022 after practicing general dentistry for 27 years, first as a private practice associate dentist and then as a managing dentist for a large DSO. She earned her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Prior to dental school, she attended the University of California at Berkeley, where she earned a degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. Bender treats patients at Glidewell’s onsite clinic and lectures nationally on dental materials and technology. She is a member of ADA, CDA, OCDS, Orange County Dental Society Board Member at large for 2025, CDA Delegate 2024 and an alternate ADA House of Delegate for 2025. Drawing from her clinical experience at Dental Aesthetics and Wellness Center, Dr. Soleimani will highlight practical, real-world applications including laser assisted periodontal treatment, root canals, implant restorations and oral surgeries. Kathy Soleimani, DDS About the Speaker Dr. Kathy Soleimani is a highly trained dentist with a love for creating beautiful healthy smiles! She graduated in 1998 among the top of her clinical class with honors from the prestigious University of Lille II in France. Dr. Soleimani’s area of special interest is Prevention and Biocompatible dentistry. She treats her patients as a systemic whole. Her meticulous eye for details, artistic finesse and her extensive advanced training in the field set’s her apart from her colleagues and highly recognized by her patients. Dr. Soleimani is a devoted mother to her daughter, Kiana. She actively participates in charitable organizations and fundraising benefiting children. Sharon Lu, DDS About the Speaker Dr. Sharon Lu is a dedicated dental professional with over 18+ years of dental experience in Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), then went on to achieve her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She had involved in many medical and dental research projects through her undergraduate and graduate work. Eager to further her expertise and provide the highest level of care to her patients, Dr. Lu embarked on a General Practice Residency (GPR) at The Long Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center immediately after obtaining her DDS degree. During this intensive one-year residency program, she focused on treating medically compromised veteran patients across various dental disciplines, including Restorative, Periodontic, Oral Surgery, and Implant Dentistry. After completing her GPR residency, Dr. Lu purchased a general practice and sharpened her skills in Restorative and Implant Dentistry, enriching her understanding of comprehensive dental care. However, her passion for excellence and commitment to continual learning led her to specialize in Endodontics, a field she is so passionate and found particularly rewarding. In 2012, she opened her Endodontic practice from ground up with a mission to continue providing the excellent endodontic care her patients deserve. Her goal is to save one tooth at the time and to provide the long-lasting treatment for years to come. Dr. Lu devotes numerous hours each year to attending continuing education courses, ensuring that her practice remains at the forefront of advancements in medicine, dentistry, and endodontics. Dr. Lu firmly believes in evidence-based dentistry, striving to provide her patients with treatments supported by the latest scientific literature and dental technology. Dr. Lu’s professional contributions extend beyond her practice through her involvement in local and national dental organizations. She is a valued member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the American Dental Association (ADA), The California Dental Association (CDA), The Orange County Dental Society (OCDS), and The Southern California Academy of Endodontics (SCAE). Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Lu finds joy in spending quality time with her family. She is a loving mother to two daughters and shares her life with her husband and their beloved pet, an adorable peekapoo. Together, they enjoy exploring new destinations, traveling, and cherishing moments with family and friends, enriching both her personal and professional life. The OMFS Digital World presented by David Telles, DDS Learning Objectives: The changing world of oral surgery – a survey of the past, the present and the future with a review of current workflows from guided surgery, navigational surgery, robotic surgery to the future. In addition, a discussion will be made regarding guided orthognathic surgery as well as custom implant creation for geometric defects using tissue engineering and how this has changed the face of maxillofacial reconstruction. At the end, a brief review of grammetry vs. photogrammetry will be discussed to help guide the future of digital workflows for full arch implant therapy. David Telles, DDS About the Speaker Born in Los Angeles, Dr. Telles grew up in LA until the age of 6 when he moved with his family to Huntington Beach, CA in 1986. Throughout high school, he excelled in mathematics and the sciences with the support of his family who were in the sciences. He then graduated from Edison High school as a distinguished scholar. Throughout his young years, Dr. Telles enjoyed working with his hands as he built r/c model planes and flew them in his past time. In addition, he participated on his high school tennis team and played golf for leisure. Dr. Telles then went to the University of Southern California as a 3rd generation of his family to attend. He obtained his B.A. in Biological Sciences and a minor in web development. Then he went on to attend New York University College of Dentistry where he graduated as member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon which is reserved to the highest 10% of the graduating class. In 2006 he completed his NYU dental training and went on to a general practice residency where he was involved with numerous complex hospital cases and completed rotations in medicine and anesthesia at UCLA-Harbor Medical Center. During his GPR, Dr. Telles found his passion for oral surgery and decided to go to the University of Illinois at Chicago for an oral surgery internship under the direction of Dr. Michael Miloro. Upon the completion of his oral surgery internship, he transitioned into his residency training at NYU-Woodhull Medical Center under the direction of Dr. Orrett Ogle. There he received extensive training in trauma, pathology, implantology, dento-alveolar, IV sedation and orthognathic surgery. During 2011 he attended the International Committee of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons meeting in Santiago, Chile where he presented a free paper on the Incidence of Oro-facial infection – a retrospective study. At the end of his residency training, he received the resident of the year award determined by both his colleagues and attending faculty. After residency, Dr. Telles worked one year as an associate in Sacramento with a large multi-office group called Sacramento Oral Surgery. Afterwards, Dr. Telles decided to return to southern California to be close to family. As the practice owner, Dr. Telles along with Drs. Marshall, Hochwald, Spoolstra and other associates are working jointly to provide the highest quality oral surgery. In addition to private practice, Dr. Telles is dedicated to education and currently serves as a clinical professor at USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Telles holds the true value of patient care as an essential quality that all surgeons should understand and practice. It is his goal to provide caring, comfortable and compassionate surgery to all of his patients. |
