Please join the expert panel for discussion on reducing and preventing injuries in the dental office. These experts in their field provide a wealth of knowledge in ergonomics, injury prevention, and nutrition. Each of our experts in the panel will provide a brief presentation on their area of expertise and the final hour will be spent providing answers to questions that we are asked frequently and an additional opportunity to answer direct questions from the audience.
Need to relieve some stress? The last 30 minutes will be dedicated to an optional relaxing yoga session. If you haven't done yoga before, that is OK. Our yoga expert, Peter provides a therapeutic style of yoga that you will all be able to perform and never forget. Have an exercise/yoga mat and loose-fitting/stretchable clothing for the session. This is a time for self-care so you can continue to do what you do best - dentistry!

Dr. Lisa Fitzpatrick
Dr. Lisa Fitzpatrick OT, CHT, CAE, CEAS is a recognized leader in injury management and dental ergonomics, with over 25 years professional experience. She has spoken internationally on ergonomics, injury reduction and prevention. She has worked with dental manufacturers in the design of dental equipment to ensure it is more ergonomically correct for dental professionals. She is currently the owner of XcelABLE (previously known as Ergo Links) and has worked with her team in developing an educational platform that can be used b dental professionals for injury prevention and management with top vetted experts to share their knowledge and expertise.
Peter Sterios is an internationally recognized author, yoga teacher (ERYT-500), and architect based in San Luis Obispo, California, USA. He is the founder of LEVITYoGA™, MANDUKA™, and creator of the popular yoga DVD series “Gravity & Grace” which is one of YOGA JOURNAL’s “top 15 yoga DVDs of all time”. For three years (2011-2013) Peter taught yoga at the White House for Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity initiatives. In 2018, he was invited to the Pentagon to share his ideas about yoga’s therapeutic effects for the US Marine Corps.
He also co-founded KarmaNICA, a charitable organization for underprivileged children in rural Nicaragua. Peter’s first book “Gravity & Grace: How to Awaken Your Subtle Body and the Healing Power of Yoga“ published by Sounds True is now available.
Louellen Ferreira has been changing lives in the health and fitness industry for over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science (Biology) from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, she holds training certifications from The American Council on Exercise and Grey Institute’s Applied Functional Science, as well as a Health Coach certification from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and is a certified Davidji meditation instructor. Lou’s health and fitness passion grew as a high-level competitive athlete. She was member of both the National Championship, University of North Carolina women’s soccer team and the U.S. Women’s National soccer team. This is where her passion, and gift, for bringing health and wellness into people’s lives began. She has worked with people of all ages and abilities in a wide range of areas from sports specific athlete training, weekend warrior training, injury recovery and also helping that person who just wants to move a little easier and feel healthier. Through Lou’s ability to listen to and connect with her clients and colleagues she has built a very successful career. Her goal is to create a safe environment and personal relationship that will help guide people to achieve their goals. It is this love and passion for helping people realize their potential that she has brought to the San Luis Obispo area for the past 10 years. It is with love and passion that she is very excited to continue to educate and inspire our community to live the fullest and healthiest lives they can.
